"I have a GT Zaskar which has been sitting in the shed looking lonely for months - its past its useful trail life (having a rather large boulder-size dint in the downtube), but I havent the heart to get rid of her (sorry, it).
Ive made it into a sort of commuter bike for blasting around the local lanes, but it just doesnt compare to my road bike, so its remained confined to the shed.
However, I bought these tyres, and fitted them this weekend, and it has been transformed! Ive been blasting about on it all weekend, and cant wait to get home and get out again.
I cant remember the last time I had so much fun on a road. Ive only been riding them for a weekend, so I cant comment on their puncture resistance (no punctures yet though!), but for pure speed on a proper bike, these tyres and well worth their weight in gold.
The only downside is that, having argued with my brother for several months that a mountain bike with skinny tyres is not worth having, I have to admit defeat - not that Ill tell him that, of course."
